How to Install Solar Street Lights ?


In this article, SOKOYO is going to show the installation of our popular solar street lights. And it should be noted that before you start the installation of any light, it is of great importance to check the items again against the system list for completeness.


All-in-one Light Installation


Tools need for installation

Prepare the wrench, screwdriver (cross, normal), screw lift, wire stripping, and other tools required for installation as shown in the following picture.

State of each device before installation

◆Before installation, all components of the system shall be well packaged.

◆The device should be stored in a ventilated and dry environment before installation.

◆After the package opened, there should be no water, condensation, or other moisture phenomena inside.

◆After the package is opened, all parts should be in good condition and the surface spray paint should have no scratch or fall off.

◆Check the packing list, make sure all parts of the all-in-one solar street light are complete, no missing.


Installation Instructions

i. Loose four bolts on the front cover

ii. Separate the four sets of bolts, spring washer, flat washer from the cover

iii. Put the sleeve at four mounting holes. Sleeve options depend on specific location and customers

iv. Fasten it with the four sets of bolts, spring washer, and flat washers

v. Switch on and test the lamp before mounting it on the pole top

vi. After testing, adjust horizontally according to the best solar direction

vii. Fix the lamp with screws and nuts

viii. LED lamp will automatically turn off in the daytime for charging. Installation at dusk or night is not suggested

Remarks over the installation of all-in-one solar lights:

  • Products specification depend on a specific model

  • All wiring are waterproof and comply with international standards

  • Only qualified personnel maintain or repair to avoid damage

  • Controller testing and setting according to manual instructions

  • Installation site should be away from the shadow of tree or building

  • Regular clean suggested for the dusty areas to maximize the solar generation

  • Lamp switch should turn off during transit

  • If the equipment cannot be installed or operated on-site immediately after the completion of the delivery and acceptance work, it needs to be stored.




Note the following points for storage:

  • Restore the packaging to its original state.

  • Pay attention to ventilation and moisture prevention when storing the equipment, and it is strictly forbidden to have water in the storage environment.

  • Check whether the integrated light is on when it is stored. If it is on, please turn it off in time to prevent the battery from being discharged for a long time.

  • Avoid violent collision and damage the upper battery board and lower battery box of the integrated lamp!

  • Regular inspections, not less than once a week. Check whether the packaging is intact, avoid vandalism, theft, and complete it in time!

  • If the storage time is more than half a year, you need to take out the lamp to charge before installation.

◆Before the installation starts, the components of the system should be packaged.

◆The light equipment is stored in a ventilated and dry environment before installation.

◆After opening the package, there is no moisture, condensation, etc. inside.

◆After opening the package, all parts should be intact and the surface painted without scratches or peeling off

◆Compared with the packing list, all parts are complete, without any omissions

◆If necessary, the all in two solar street light must be tested by professionals before installation


Installation Instructions

i. Pass the lamp wire through the arm tube and pull it out

ii. Mount the lamp on the arm, tighten the screw with an Allen wrench, and then use an open-end wrench to tighten the nut and fix the lamp

iii. Pass the lamp wire into the pole

iv. Mount the arm to the pole, and tighten the screw with the hex wrench to secure the arm

v. Fix the sleeve to solar panel with screws, and pass the wire of solar panel through sleeve

vi. Connect the wire of lamp to the wire of the solar panel, fix the solar panel to the pole, then tighten the screw with an Allen wrench, and then use an open-end wrench to tighten the nut and fix the solar panel

Remarks over All-in-Two Light Installation:

i. The solar panel must be installed in the direction of the midday sun. When installing the components, use them as lightly as possible. Do not collide or knock, so as to avoid damage.

ii. There should be no tall buildings or trees in front of the solar panels to shield the sunlight, and choose to install them without shelter. The place with serious dust needs to do the cleaning regularly.

iii. All screw terminals, etc. should be tightened according to the standard, and there should be no loose sloshing.

iv. Due to different light powers and different lighting times, it needs to be set in the factory. Wiring must be strictly in accordance with the corresponding wiring diagram wiring. The positive and negative poles are clearly separated, and the reverse connection is strictly prohibited.

v. When repairing or replacing the light, the model and power must be the same as the original factory configuration. It is strictly forbidden to replace the light with different power models from the factory configuration or adjust the lighting time and power at will.


Installation of Split Solar Light System


General Installation Instructions

  • SAVE THESE INSTRUCTIONS — This manual contains important instructions that should be followed during installation and maintenance.

  • The installation and maintenance of SOKOYO's split solar street light must be carried out by qualified technicians.

  • WARNING—Smoking and fires are strictly prohibited at the installation site. NEVER short circuit the battery (Never connect its “+” wire directly with the “-” wire.) because short circuits may damage the battery.

  • DO NOT short circuit the solar panel or load while connected to the controller. This will DAMAGE the controller.

  • The controller and battery should be protected from direct sunlight. Ensure adequate space for air flow around it.

  • Be very careful of the fragile components like solar panel and light fixture during transferring and installation.

  • Be very careful of the finished surfaces of the pole, lamp arm, brackets and light fixture during transferring and installation. The paint is easily damaged if not well protected.

  • Be careful when working with copper wire and other components as they are sharp.

  • Everyone except working staff should be kept at least 30 feet away from the job site.

  • Installation during rainy days is not recommended.

Installation Instructions

i. Fix the light arm to solar panel with screws, pass the solar panel wires through the light arm.

ii. Mount the light arm to the pole, fix the nut with a hex wrench, and pass the wire into the pole.

iii. Mount the solar panel on the pole, adjust the orientation of the solar panel, first tighten the hexagon socket screw, then fix the nut with a hex wrench, and pass the solar panel into pole.

iv. First connect the LED lamp with wire from the pole arm, then mount the lamp to the light arm, tighten with a hexagon socket screw, and then fix the nut with a hex wrench
